I read an article in The Guardian newspaper which said that Brazil is the country of the future.
First, the phrase “Brazil is the country of the future” I already knew because when my austrian grandfather went to Brazil in the fifties, Brazil had been nominated the country of the future. This article said “…South America’s sleeping giant is finally waking up…”. In my opinion Brazil could be the country of the future if some measures (mainly social and educational) would be taken and I really think its a long way.
I found another article and I think it’s more realistic. There is a good explanation about what happened and is still happening in Brazil.
Charles Andrews wrote at the end of the article:
“Brazil is a beautiful country blessed with vast natural resources, a true democracy and a vibrant people knocking on the door for admission to the first rank of international powers. The downside is seen in endemic corruption, an unwieldy political structure, an over-sized bureaucracy with well-meant but impractical and unfunded pension rights, a plethora of costly and unenforceable regulation and perhaps a widening gap between the very rich and the very poor. Relations with the U.S. are adequate but not as good as they should be.“
Maybe this phrase, mentioned in this article as a joke, “Brazil is the country of the future - and always will be!” it’s not a joke, it’s a pure reality.
See you in the future!
